Here are a few of the awards they’ve received:

1995 -  PUBLISHER’S WEEKLY selected Kathleen’s book, Thin Moon and Cold Mist as one of the Top Ten Romances of the Year.

1998-  People of the Mist received BOOKLIST’S EDITOR’S CHOICE AWARD for “Best Adult Novel for Young Adults.”

2000 & 2001-  The Summoning God and Bone Walker were named as “Top Ten Southwest Books of the Year.”

2005-  People of the Raven won the Western Writers of America Golden Spur Award for the “Best Novel of the West.”  Also in 2005,  Kathleen was inducted into the Women Who Write the West Hall of Fame. 

2008-  Michael and Kathleen received the “Literary Contributor of the Year Award” from the Mountain Plains Library Association.  

2015-  Kathleen was honored by the United States Congress with a “Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition” for her contributions to the fields of writing, archaeology and history.                                                             

Many of their novels have been New York Times and USA TODAY bestsellers, as well as international bestsellers.  There are seventeen million copies of their books in print in twenty-nine languages. Michael and Kathleen live in the foothills of the Owl Creek Mountains near Thermopolis, Wyoming, with a herd of buffalo and their two beloved Shetland sheep dogs, Shannon and Jake.  Their website is www.gear-gear.com.
